Finance Tracker
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 14, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Paul Akingbola ("we") for your use of the Finance Tracker. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility
You must have reached the age of majority where you live (18 or 19 depending on your province or territory) and be able to form a binding contract. One person per account; accounts are not transferable.
2. Your responsibilities
- Provide a real email address you control and keep your password secret. Turn on two-factor authentication for extra protection.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for decisions you make based on it.
- Only invite people to shared planner goals with their permission.
3. Prohibited financial information
Do not enter or upload full payment card numbers, CVV codes, bank account or transit numbers, online banking usernames or passwords, PINs, Social Insurance Numbers, or government ID images or numbers. The service is designed for amounts and categories only. We may delete such information if we become aware of it.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- attempt to access another user's account or data, or probe, scan or test the service's security;
- use bots, scrapers or automated sign-in attempts, or overload the service;
- upload malware or unlawful, infringing or abusive content;
- use the AI features to generate unlawful content or try to bypass their safeguards;
- resell, copy or reverse-engineer the service, or use it for money laundering, fraud or any illegal purpose.
5. Service availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, pause or discontinue features. Keep your own copy of important records using Download my data. If we discontinue the service we will give at least 30 days' notice where possible so you can export your data.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, creates a security risk or is required by law, with notice where reasonable. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
7. Subscriptions (when Pro launches)
The Finance Tracker is currently free. If we launch a paid Pro plan, the price, billing period and features will be shown clearly before you subscribe, and no one will be charged without explicitly choosing to upgrade. Subscriptions will renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel any time from Settings and keep Pro access until the end of the paid period.
8. Refunds
Payments are non-refundable for partial billing periods, except where required by law (including any cancellation rights under your provincial consumer protection law) or where we fail to provide the paid service. If a charge is made in error, contact us within 30 days and we will refund it.
9. Intellectual property
The Finance Tracker's software, design, text and branding belong to Paul Akingbola. You keep ownership of the data you enter; you give us a limited licence to store and process it only to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Notice.
10. AI Coach limitations
AI features produce automated, general information that may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. They are not financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice and are not provided by a licensed professional. Verify important information and consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. See the AI & Financial Disclaimer.
11. What happens when an account is deleted
When you request deletion, receipt images are deleted immediately and your account is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. Signing in during those 30 days lets you cancel. After that, your account, financial records, notes, goals, planner items you own and AI history are permanently erased and cannot be recovered; backup copies expire within about 14 days. Shared goals you own are removed for invited members too.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses arising from financial decisions, calculation errors, AI output, data loss or service interruptions. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or CAD $50. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Newfoundland and Labrador, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.
14. Changes
We will notify you of material changes and ask you to accept them on your next sign-in before they apply to you.
