Sometime in 2019, I met with an old friend from Uni. While catching up, he mentioned how he had coveted my life for the first five years after school. In his words: “I was doing great- from getting a job, car, to bagging an MA, getting married & becoming a Dad.” I was in shock.
As I listened, I saw a man who, although happy for me, was sad for himself. When he was done, I asked him: “Did you know I hated that job, my car was so bad it was the one driving me, and that I had to put my biggest dreams on hold just to sustain my family?” He was in shock.
Truth is, even the people who look like they’ve got it all figured out are battling with some of life’s greatest pains you may never know/see. So, envy them in good ways but not in excess to think their life is perfect. No, it’s not. There is no perfect life.
Meanwhile, you are someone else’s prayer point no matter how lowly you think you are or little you feel you have. Never forget that! Be grateful for life, for your life, and for what you have. More doors will open, and everything go set!
