A lot of good things happened this year. But this definitely was a major icing on our big sweet cake of couple memories.
Dee and I were out on our 5th wedding anniversary date night and it was relishing. We had so much fun eating, chatting, playing and filling our bucket list for the next 5 years. Turns out there’s always a lot for couples to catch up on and learn about each other no matter how long their union has been.
It really felt like some boy/girl friend stuff again. Felt kinda conscious initially *covers face*. That was me of course, and never my Oluwadamilola. But I did sink in, at the speed of light. How I love the re-ignition of that lover-boy vibe in me. *winks*
As I think of it all, I understood better why most Parents stopped lovey-doveying over time; the issues of life, you know. That’s some place we never want our marriage to get to so we committed to doing more of such date nights and hang-outs in the coming months, and years.
Love, no matter how deep, must be nurtured for it to last. Affection, no matter how hot, must be nourished to thrive. In a nutshell, a marriage that’d last needs an unending lovey-dovey. That’s how to keep the fire burning.
Cheers to the next 5 years of peace and prosperity, and to a love eternal!
